Happy Labor Day! I have been reading about Fall on so many of your blogs, and it certainly feels like Fall here in my neck of the woods. Now, I love the month of September. It is usually a beautiful month here in the Midwest. And, I enjoy adding little touches of Fall to my decor...

However, orange just isn't in my color palette. Oh, I tried it once, about 7 years ago, in our last house. It was popular at Crate and Barrel at the time, and I hadn't really started my obsession with white yet...so I informed my husband one day that our dining room was going to be orange. Yikes, was that a disaster! If you were driving past our house, at any time of day, and happened to glance through our front window, all you saw was an orange glow illuminating from somewhere within our house. It was ugly. And no matter how I tried, I couldn't fix it. And nothing matched with it, except at Halloween. So ever since then, I have sworn off orange. And that includes my Fall decorating. I just think white works, anytime of the year...

Too cozy things up, I add a little more candlelight around the house. Maybe some dried greens and twigs from the garden. And, of course, some white pumpkins. At the same time, I am drawn to adding a few more rustic touches, that might include a bit more linen and burlap. And then, I balance that out with my love for mercury glass...

I hope you've enjoyed my version of Fall decorating. Keep on showing me your orange pumpkins, because I do think they're wonderful...they just don't fit in at my house!
And the winner of the $150 giveaway is Six in One Hand. Thank you to everyone for participating. It will be so fun for me to go around to all of the new blogs this week that entered the contest! I'm off to make a pot of "pasta e fagioli" for dinner...

Congratulations to Six In One Hand for winning your fabulous giveaway
I have to agree with you about the orange. It's not my thing either and your white pumpkins look adorable. Happy Fall x Julie
Love it all. Orange isn't in my color palette either here inside, but I do love to grow the big dark Vin Rouge D’ Etampes in my backyard, although they stay outside for decoration. Have you seen the grayish blue pumpkins? They're beautiful. Happy Labor Day and congrats to Six in One Hand for being the winner.

I love Autumn...just love it! I have 3 sap buckets just like the one you showed. I keep one next to my front door full of old canes and such. I'm not sure yet as to what I will do with the other two. Thank you for sharing your lovely fall decor and how exciting for "Six in One Hand!!!"

Love your fall decor. I use the white and gray pumpkins in my dining room and living room (and kitchen) I can use orange some in my family room (the kind of red/orange cinderella pumpkins) and outside. We don't get fall in a big way around here, but some of my trees are starting to change a little. Hope you had a good Labor Day weekend!
I loved your fall decorating! Who says it has to be orange? You have inspired me to try a new twist on fall decorating! Traci

Hi Tracey, I love your Fall decorating, probably because I am such a Nature lover! Everything looks beautiful... I do love the real burnt oranges and rust colors of Autumn... woodsy types of colors... Bisous... Julie Marie
Just beautiful. I didn't know you could decorate for Fall without using Orange. Your taste is so elegant and refined. You should see my house. Your mouth would go open with all my orange:o
Hi Tracey,
I have just discovered your beautiful blog, from Rose, telling me about it.
Your fall decorating is elegant and I am with you there, I am not really fond of orange.
Enjoy your week

I am not ready for fall yet, but all your beautiful photos are encouraging me a LITTLE:-) Congrats to the winner...I am saying this through my tears....
Love your ideas for Fall. Congrats to the winner.
Hi Tracey,
I'm with you! I love to see traditional fall decorating, but just not in my own house. I can't seem to make it work. I've hated orange ever since my sister was married in the 70's and I was her maid of honor. My dress was orange and I was 8 months pregnant. I'm sure you can imagine what I looked like. Yep, a pumpkin! Yikes...
Thank you Tracey for the lovely message you left about my porch.
Hugs,
June
YES...to ALL the white pumpkins! This will be my first WHITE-OUT fall and I cannot wait to get my hands on some of those french babies.
Such a lucky winner...can't wait to do some more shopping in your store - Even if it is 'window shopping'!!
xoxo - T.
I'm with you on the white pumpkins, Tracey. Love your fall decorating ideas - I still trying to squeeze out the last few days of summer in my mind, so I'm not quite yet ready for fall decorating...
What beautiful pictures! I love your Fall look! My eye has always been drawn to deep reds, greens and golds. The last yr or so I noticed that Im loving the more neutral colors!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!
I am still squealing and doing my spazzy happy dance!!!!
I am DROOLING over your store and trying to decide what to get cuz I WANT EVERYTHING!!!
I love the neutral colors for fall decorating. I definitely use white as well.

Congrats to the winner of your giveaway...she is one lucky gal! I'm not quite ready to give up summer, so I haven't decorated for Fall yet. But soon...with only bits of orange here & there because I'm not a big fan of the color, either:)
I have say, that I too, simply love neutral shades. Orange never use to be my thing either, but then I had a child and now I want things to be a bit more colourful for her. I still keep my white base - just add hits of colour here and there! Love the white pumpkins - always a seasonal favourite.
mercury glass & white pumpkins
two of my most favorite things
but mercury glass pumpkins!!

i love 'em!!
great images
& yes, even though its 85 degrees here today i am sooooo ready for fall!

White pumpkins and mercury glass are always pretty. Thank you for stopping by my blog and congrats to the winner of your very generous giveaway. Fall is almost here and I'm really looking forward to it. p.s. I have a fair amount of Monica type "A" issues myself. Or, "uptight," as my husband likes to call it. ;)
Hi Tracey! Just spent the last half hour getting caught up on your blog. Love all the pretty inspirational pics on here and just adore your shop! Congratulations!
Hello Tracey
I love the way the American's celebrate and decorate the Fall. Over here in UK it seems to be more about halloween night itself and ghosts, witches etc and a pumpkin outside the door.
I love the white version look that you have created. Your description of your orange room made me smile.

I love how you decorate in white. I decorate in white in January, otherwise, I am all over the place. You name it I have a month I use that color. Always enjoy your blog! Martha

Tracey,
Thanks for your nice comments - yes, it has been exciting to help Ki with the table scape - but feeling the pressure too! Being bound to thrift shopping has made it challenging. However, it has been fun "playing" pretend stylist! I love your new store and will be making some purchases! Good luck to you!!!
xo - Jill
