...I'm talking Christmas again...I just can't help it! We always put our tree up the weekend before Thanksgiving, so I am already scanning my online decorating "file" for Christmas ideas and inspiration. When I went into it today, I realized that I have a lot of Christmas inspiration to share with you...so I figured I better narrow my topic down a bit for today...
So that leads me to vintage ornaments. A few years ago my in-laws gave me a large box of vintage Christmas ornaments that they didn't want anymore...and I have been hooked on them ever since. I think they blend beautifully with the newer ornaments we have, while lending a magical nostalgic touch to our tree. You can hang them from your tree, yes, but you can also simply pile them up and let their beauty speak for themselves...here's a few of my favorite pics...
I just love how they worked the ornaments into the window treatment here...

I heart this silver tray...

And really, is there anything that doesn't look better under a cloche??!

The next two pictures are of vintage inspired ornaments that are now in stock in my SHOP ...yeah...finally! Trust me, they are gorgeous! And don't worry, I have saved quite a few for myself...

Most of the rest of my order is scheduled to arrive at my house on Wednesday, so I will be very busy this week unloading merchandise and processing orders...wish me luck (and let's hope it doesn't rain because the crates that will be coming are far too large to go anywhere but on my driveway)! The "pre-order" status will finally be coming down off of most of the items in the next day...yipee...
My link back was not working on my last post (that darn Blogger), but I wanted to let everyone know that the little button ornaments that you loved so much were made by the talented Jude over at Tapestries of Nature!
Have a fabulous week... and I will keep you posted on my "adventures" this week :)

Love your vintage ornament inspiration photos. Sigh. Oh, and you must be so excited to receive your big crate this week, filled with so many beautiful things.
Oh so pretty! Love, love vintage ornaments:) Back in stock...yay...does this mean my ornament will be on its way to my house soon? Oh goodie:)
Oh darling. Just sweet and darling.
Now tell me why you decorate before Thanksgiving? I would SO do that if my family would let me!!
We put ours up on Thanksgiving night! Such fun.
I love the vintage ornaments as well -- am always on the lookout even though our tree is so full!

Oh how want Thanksgiving to come fast so I can bring out the Christmas decorations. You inspire me to do it right now, but I will have to wait. Florence
You are definitely putting me in the Christmas spirit. I'm going to put up our tree a little early this year too. Our tree is like the Charlie Brown version...lots of multi-colored lights and colorful ornaments. I bet yours is white and silver;)Love those sweet vintage ornaments...reminds me of our ornaments growing up.
Silver, the shinier the better, is my color for Christmas. So this post was Heaven to me!
Hello there! I hope your day has treated you well... I love the gray door with the velvet green ribbon yummmmmy... I know whatever you decide on will be fabulous.
Sheila

They all look so pretty! I don't know if I could just pick out one or two!
Hello Tracey... everything is so very pretty... I have been collecting vintage Christmas ornaments and actually vintage Christmas everything for over twenty years now... there is nothing like trimming a tree with these lovely old ornaments that have seen so many family Christmas's and traditions... I like to think their original owners who have passed on are now part of my family too and watching over their precious Christmas treasures with love... they can be assured I will never part with them and I will love them too! Your family heirloom ornaments are beautiful! Love to you... xoxo Julie Marie
Tracey, thank you for all of the beautiful Christmas inspiration! The Mint Truffle Hershey's Kisses I'm having for lunch just aren't doing the trick! I have to get my shop ready for the holidays...but with construction planning on the brain, I'm just not getting it done. Eek!
Happy crate unpacking!!! I'll pray for nice weather for you!
: )

I love that ornament idea with the drapes! Very cute! Jen
Your pictures look like they could be in a magazine. I love vintage ornaments and love to decorate with them at the holidays. Best of luck getting things organized for the shop! I willbe checking it all out!
I have the serious holiday bug! I can't wait... i am sooo excited. Love the pictures, have fun unpacking!

Gasp....what awesome Christmas ideas...you always have the BEST pictures...thanks for brightening my day!!!!!!!!!!!!
Beautiful, beautiful.
In Canada, Thanksgiving is in October, so it's technically not tacky to put up decorations any time after that (though my neighbor puts hers up well before Halloween and it always annoys me). It makes me happy because it's a lot of work for only four weeks. I think we'll be starting ours this week. Thanks for the inspiration!
I adore vintage ornaments... however, all glass ornaments will be left off the tree and out of reach from Baby Hughes who will think they are a toy! Beautiful photos!
Smiles!
Michelle
yeah...you got the ornaments!!
I hope you save me a box!
xo
Hi Tracey, it sounds like you have a busy time ahead. Really praying for fine weather for you!
I don't own a single cloche (just don't see them around for sale or they're too pricey) but you're so right...what doesn't look better under one?
Thanks for these lovely pictures, I'm slowly getting in the Christmas mood.
Angex
Oooh...so glad the ornaments came! I've been waiting...and of course I am in love with that first pic of the chippy gray door. Gorgeous!

I love love love vintage ornaments and have had quite a stash over the years. Last year and this year I have pared them down to mostly silver with a great patina.

I love the inspiration shots you shared, but that's no big surprise, since I love every little thang you do.
Mmmm....thanks for the lovely inspiration Tracey! I heart your vintage ornaments. :) Last year, the day after Christmas, I scored some vintage ornaments at one of my fave antique stores for 75% off! I couldn't believe it! You can bet that I bought all the ones that I could get my hands on! LOL! :)
Smiles,
rachel
I love vintage mercury ornaments. They are so imperfectly perfect! My color palette this year is going to be pink, white and blue. But I always have apecial tree set up for my boy's favorite traditional ornaments too!

I am definitely inspired by your inspiration file photos. I can't keep Christmas off my mind either, so I'm not even going to try anymore.
Hugs,
June

I am home from work today and I am fighting off every urge i have to put up the Christmas decorations, and now, it's even harder after seeing all of the lovely pictures you shared! What am I to do??????
My poor children! saddled with a Mom who won't put a tree up until about a week before Chritmas (gasp!). You're right about cloches, and that mirrored platform is calling to me. Your style is quite dreamy. Thanks for visiting my blog yesterday.

Hi Tracey
yes, I did the whole house in three days in July. I see you have it as House and Home - we shot the place three times - once for House and Home, then Country Living, then Style at Home. All over a few years.
I wish I had more vintage ornaments. They are so unique - like little treasures.
You are going to have so much fun going through everything!!! I can't wait to get my order and I am excited for Christmas too!!
So gorgeous! I am loving that first picture...that grey door!
Love the ornaments!
I am so ready to decorate!
xo,
Adrienne

J'adore vintage ornaments, especially when you showcase them in cloches and glass vases. Now you're starting to gear me towards Christmas.
-marie
Lovely! Oh, I just can't wait to decorate! I've always done everything under the sun with ornaments. We've never had a tree! Comes from being part of a church denomination that frowned on having a Christmas tree. But since we are no longer part of that - this year I'm having a tree!! I've got some ideas for it that don't include a lot of ornaments. I don't want to buy a bunch and the vintage ones I have always find a spot elswhere! Sounds so fun to get creative with all of the festive stuff!
I need to make a trip to Targe soon. they always have fun Christmas stuff. Hobby Lobby had fun blown glass ornaments last year. Have you checked them out this year?
Keep the pics coming I love inspiration from other places:)
Jill
AMAZING inspiration here! I'm still trying to decide on those letter~
Just found your blog today and boy, am I glad I did! Really lovely pictures! Love the white...light, airy pictures. I'm excited to decorate for the Christmas holiday myself, but also anxious to decorate the table for our Thanksgiving feast! Blessings, Andrea
This just might get me in the mood for the holidays. That white button garland is amazing....so simple but so cute. In case you can't tell I have a thing for white buttons too.
Hi tracey,
thanks for stopping by.
j'adore your post... puts me alrady in the holiday season's mood, which is a bit early in Italy as we normally start with our decorations on December 8, a Catholic Holiday celebrating Holy Mary.
What wonderful ideas you have shared with us, and I've felt truly inspired. Thank you.
until the next time,
take good care
Hugs
rita

Tracey, you have such lovely taste- but I want to see more of yor home! All of my Christmas ornaments are in a storage locker in Maine. I hope we can get to some of it when we arrive. I'd like to decorate for Christmas while I unpack. Good luck with all of the merchandise coming. There are so many things I'd like- do you have extras? --Lee
I absolutely adore vintage ornaments! I have some from my grandparents farm that I display similar to picture #5 in the big glass urn. I have one of the little pinecones but I love the little acorn one too! I just may have to head on over to your shop.... hmmm.
I love your Christmas inspiration. I have been collecting pretty vintage Christmas ornaments for several years now- my favorite way to display them is with greenery under a cloche- so pretty.

I agree - everything does look better under a cloche. I was wondering yesterday if I would ever get tired of the look but I don't think so. You have gorgeous decorations - I bet your home is such a wonderful place to be!
I am in the process of gathering for a Christmas Open House at Winnie and Tulula's and you have provided some much need inspiration. Thank you...it's all beautiful!
Debbie
This makes me think of people who sew and can't bare to throw a scrap of ribbon away - with the bow on the door - I see why not - it's lovely. Jennifer
That idea of the cute bow on the doorknob is adorable. I want to try that.
Bonjour! Beautiful ornaments - I'm in the mood for Christmas. Thanks for stopping by my blog and your kind comment - I guess it does sound funny that I'm bringing stuff from the US to France, but now that I'm living there I need to have some of my sentimental things with me.
Just wanted to say that I always love looking at the pretty photos you collect and share! :)
