Gratitude...

First off today, I would like to share with you a few random pictures from around my home...shots that for some reason just make me smile. And then, in keeping with the thankful spirit of November, I would like to share with you a few of the things in my life that I am grateful for. This is not an all inclusive list...just what is on my mind and in my heart right now...

this little candle holder is a repurposed vintage light fixture part that I had no use for, until I thought to turn it upside down and stick a candle in it (yep this is about as "crafty" as I get)...it makes me smile because it has the most perfect patina...

these little beauties I picked up at the flea market last weekend...they now hang from branches I gathered in my yard and placed in a vase...

oh and this button garland is another flea market find...it doesn't have a spot in my home yet...but it will soon

why is it that little...white...vintage buttons can bring me so much happiness??!

my husband can't quite figure that out...

and that yummy grey linen you see on the chair is a new addition I made this weekend...I felt like she needed a little update...yep, I'm still on the grey kick...

I am thankful for...

...my mom...for giving me the gift of faith, and for teaching me that for a marriage to be successful, there needs to be three people in it: you, your husband, and God

...having a husband that I can truly say is a good man...who is completely unselfish...and who loves me unconditionally
<br>
...the blessing of being able to stay home with my children...and that it has not dampened my creative spirit or entrepreneurial drive, but instead, made me appreciate all the more that I have these traits

...a community of people that I am proud to call my friends...who lift me up with their words and support me with their kindness...who "get" that chippy and rusty are good qualities in an item...these friends are all of YOU...

and I am thankful every day that I've found you...

Beautiful sentiment, Tracey. I love the button garland, and I may just have to give one a try myself! I think it's so appropriate that the season of "Thanksgiving" comes right before the "Christmas" season! The candleholder is just perfect!

Tracey, I adore you! I'm thankful that you're thankful for all the right things at this time in your life. It takes some people years to be thankful for the REAL things in life.
And I'm probably going to steal that ornament idea with the buttons and make some for me!
Beautiful pictures of beautiful things.
Hugs,
June

I just found your blog via my sister's frantic email that I absolutely HAD to read it right away...and she was right. If I could copy and paste your vignettes into my home, I would do it immediately.

Especially the button garland. I wonder if I could make that myself...

Thanks for the inspiration!

What is it about buttons ? I love them too and your candlestick is delightful. I love your taste and I'm so into grey at the moment.
It does us good to remember all of the good things in our life and to bring us down to earth and remember the simple things and how lucky we all are. Thank YOU for being there too, and for such wonderful inspiration. XXXX

Wonderful post. I enjoyed the photos very much too, and I love your candleholder - beautiful!

But your vintage button-love reminded me that I cannot for the life of me find my little jar of buttons. I may have given them away to the Goodwill accidentally last Spring. I hope whoever finds them will love them as much as I did. :)

Enjoy your day,
Zuzu

Hi Tracy, yesterday I told someone I was grateful for that furball that sits at my feet every single day. :) Your items are gorgeous. I also use an old ceiling light fixture as a candle holder...have for years. Your post are so special! I saw where the Frenchy magazine will be out soon. Don't forget to keep me posted so I can order it. I'll go look on you website right now. xo

A lovely post, Tracey. I am thankful I found you, too. Not too many crossovers from foodie blogs, I know. But I love your sense of style...and I think we all have collections like buttons that drive our spouses nuts. Would that I could have collected something more on the $$ line of buttons rather than my antique silver-topped crystal jars!
