Holiday table settings...

Hello new week! And hello my friends!! Yep Halloween is over...and I'm talkin Christmas! Sorry, I just can't help myself! I start pulling out my Christmas inspiration as soon as October hits...and then just wait til Halloween is over so I can start using it. I thought today we'd ease into things a bit by talking table settings...because these ideas could all be used for Thanksgiving as well, with a little tweaking of details...

Start with those beautiful white dishes, for a great base to your table setting...

Add in some vintage silverware if you have it...

Select some beautiful cloth napkins and embellish for the holiday...

For all of us buttons lovers, I just adore this idea...

Add in your candle lighting...I always love the sparkle that silver or mercury glass adds to the table...

Swags of fresh herbs around the room or on the backs of chairs work well for just about any holiday. I often still have rosemary, thyme, and sage growing in my garden at Thanksgiving, if it hasn't gotten too cold, and these work perfectly...

Then add in whatever bits of loveliness you'd like to create the mood you're trying to acheive...
pine cones...
vintage ornaments...
flowers...
a place card for each person with a poem on it...

And there you have it!

As long as we're talking parties, I just had to throw this picture in too. Is it not the best looking "bar" you've ever see?! Love, love, love this...

Well I guess this little blog is turning into a decorating blog. Oh well, I guess I have to go with what my interests are...

As far as Halloween goes, the bumble bee, the construction worker, and the angel all had a fun filled day of trick-or-treating, even though it was freezing here and you could barely make out what their costumes were because I made them wear their winter coats...and snow pants...yep snow pants...like I said, it was freezing here!

Happy week everyone, can't wait to visit you...

Our Halloween was rather warm, but wet. Very wet. The kids still had fun, and we adults splish-sploshed behind them, thankful we'd had a glass of wine with dinner...
