Christmas greetings my friends! I've finally started wrapping a few of my gifts...I haven't gotten very far yet, but I thought I would share with you a few that I have done. I like to keep my wrapping fairly simple, with an emphasis on natural...and I like to use what I already have on hand from around the house and from my craft supply "stash." I also like to place some of my wrapped gifts around the house and include them in my Christmas decor...just to make things a little more festive!
...the picture above is of a corner in my dining room...
this one I made by simply stamping an image (in silver) onto a doily and gluing it to the top of the gift...
this next one didn't photograph nearly as pretty as it looked in person, but I've included it anyway...yep that's an empty grape container {you know I like to reuse/recycle :) }...I liked being able to see the mercury glass ornaments through the clear top...
I sometimes like to use mini clothespins to hold the tag onto the gift, instead of just tying it on...these I made with a swipe of white paint and a dash of "Glamour Dust" while the paint was still wet...
I'd like to leave you with a poem that my husband received...those of you who have been reading my blog from the beginning know that my father-in-law passed away in August...he was loved and cherished completely, and the pain of his loss is still deep. I know some of my dear blog friends have lost a loved one this year as well...
Although this poem brought me to tears, I found it to be of comfort...and hope some of you will too...
I'm Spending Christmas With Jesus This Year
I see the countless Christmas trees
Around the world below;
With the tiny lights, like Heaven's stars
Reflecting on the snow.
The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear;
Because I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.
I hear the many Christmas songs
That people hold so dear;
But the sounds of any music can't compare
With the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you
The joy their voices bring;
It is beyond description
To hear the angels sing.
I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart;
But it's only for a while
That we will be apart.
I'll ask Him to light your spirit
As I tell Him of your love;
So please pray for one another
As you lift eyes above.
I can't tell you of the splendor
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you imagine Christmas
With our Saviour...face to face?
Please let your hearts be joyful
And let your spirit sing;
I'm spending Christmas in Heaven
And I am walking with the King.
Tracey

That poem is perfection. My grandfather died January 5th and this will be our first Christmas with out him. I know it is hard for my dad and aunts - and am going to print it off and give it to them this Christmas. It is so special and so perfect.....I hope your husband gets great comfort from it, during this rough time.
ALLL my love and hugs ~
Bonjour Tracey! THank yo so much fo this beautiful poem - simply knowing our dear ones are face to face with Jesus enables us to go on.
Your gifts are stunning, the stamped image on the doily is so lovely, how lucky to receive such a pretty package.
Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday!
God bless you and your beautiful family, Tracey! I'll be praying for you throughout the holidays. My dear daddy is spending his 10th Christmas celebrating with the Lord. Passionate about singing..The Hallelujah Chorus was always one of his favorites and now he gets to sing it before the King!

ps Your gifts look lovely! I really like the doily and the sparkly clothes pin.
Lovely poem...I know the holidays make it even harder when we have lost a person we love so much!!
I just love all the time you are putting into wrapping the presents...sooo French to have pretty packaging...and reusing the grape container, well, that's too cool Look for me to begin using all those raspberry cartons for my flea market goods :)
Thank you for sharing your lovely poem, even though I am sitting here with tears streaming down my face.
My grandma passed away this year, and Christmas isn't going to be the same without her. I love the first image, it reminded me instantly of her, as she had a statue like this on her dresser.
Gorgeous.
Rachael
Hi Tracey,
Just had a quick visit tonight and what a lovely post, beautiful wrapped gifts waiting and the poem is lovely.
It is 10.39 pm and I am tired but I will come and read this again tomorrow.
I miss my Father every day and it is times like Christmas that a great loss will be felt.
Sending love and comfort to your family.
Thanks for sharing the lovely poem.
Hugs
Carolyn
Oh Tracey, what a wonderful poem and, very comforting for you all.
I think that my presents will look similar (although not quite as good) as yours. I always use brown paper and then photocopy old manuscripts or sheet music. I have bought gift tags from my Swedish blogging friend, Magdalena @ Color Sepia which are very Jeanne d'Arc like.
Everything that you do has that magical touch. You certainly have the gift. Enjoy your Christma preparations as I know you will. XXXX
Beautiful poem. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Your gift wrap ideas are wonderful. I really like the idea of using the clothespin to clip the tag to the gift.
Jane
Tracey, Thank you for coming by and leaving a message on my blog too.
Your wrappings are so creative and done with so much love..that is apparent.
The poem has touched my heart... as I am sure it will many others. I have shared your blog with a friend who has recently had a significant loss in her life, the poem will mean a lot to her.

It's a lovely poem, Tracey. It's so difficult this time of year when you have lost a parent.
I can't tell you how much I enjoy your creativity. I used to take the time when I was younger on crafts and wrapping gifts...don't know why I don't do it anymore.
Adore the mercury glass ornaments. I have a few, but not many.
Your packaging is gorgeous!Thank you for sharing that lovely poem!
May your Christmas be filled with joy.
Blessings to you...thank you for sharing this poem. It has filled my sad heart and given me peace while missing my Father this Christmas.
Merry, merry Christmas to you and your....I love, love your blog.
Smiles ~ Ramona
OMG Tacey!
Where are the Kleenex??
I lost my father and this will be the second Christmas without him. It's still no easier. I have a friend who just lost her father two weeks ago. I will be giving her this poem for sure.
On a lighter note, your wrapping is so elegant, simplistic and creative. The wrapping is a gift in itself. I would be honored to receive a gift wrapped from you!
Have a wonderful day and thanks for the great poem!
XoXo
Gail

O.k. I'm crying but I wanted to make sure I said Thank You for the poem, I imagine my mom telling all of us it's a wonderful Christmas for her. If you don't mind I would like to pass it on to my siblings. ~ Theresa p.s. your gifts look so special! loooove the first photo!
Love that poem!! Now lets talk home decor.....OMG!!! Love that first shot of your dining room...shouts out JDArc !! If by chance I don;t get back over here,have a wonderful Christmas my friend!! Chrissy
I found a great store for you....for those medals......
and your gift wrapping is simply beautiful!......
wish me godspeed, for I do believe I am going to make white curtains!
Beautiful poem, Tracey. What a lovely one to frame so you can appreciate it all year and as a lovely reminder of your father-in-law.
On a lighter note, I had to laugh outloud when I saw picture #1. The burlap garland you show wrapped in ribbon has been my tree garland for the last few years! I swear, we have the same brain sometimes when it comes to these things! That is so funny...you are like my decorating kindrid-spirit. We really need to shop together sometime...then again maybe that would be a bad idea. We would both want to buy the same things...and what wuld happen if there is only one of something? That could be baaad...I have a hard time sharing my finds. But with you...I just might. hahahah ~mary~
Beautiful gifts, beautiful poem.
I may have to steal that grape container idea:) What a fun twist on recycling!! love it!
Jill
The poem makes me cry & brings me comfort at the same time. That poem is just beautiful. Thank you for sharing it and the blessings to you and your family for the loss of your father-in-law but may you all feel so great he is spending Christmas with Him.
Beautiful post...I was thinking of using my pictures of gifts by the way in a post too...so please don't think I'm copying too much...although the cards from the Trader Joe bags went marvelous...and the rest I made tags and added some sparkle around the edges...(well Madison added that anyway)...
Just one question...are you sure you want to stick with "that your not crafty"??? because I think you definitely are! {sorry for the long comment by the way}
Tracey, so many blessings, the poem, ah, goosebumps. Thank you for the beauty.

Tracey, your gift wrapping would make anyone so happy, just to know you cared about them so much to do such a lovely "work of art". More than wrapping, but a touching gift in itself.
The poem is just so very sweet and tender. and does make us think differently about our loved ones who are now in heaven. Peace and Christmas Blessings,
Debra
Your packaging is truly little works of art. The poem...how beautiful! I hope you don't mind, but I'm sending a link to two friends of mine who each recently lost a parent. This may go a long way to help with their healing.

Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog...when I count my blessings you are definately among them! Hugs & Smiles!
I love your wrappings. The image on the doily wrapping is just stunning in its beautiful simplicity. It just touched my heart. My heart goes out to your husband in his loss. My mom passed away March 23, 2009. I have been thinking of her and sort of honoring her with posts during this time as she made many needlework gifts for me that I cherish. I have seen versions of that poem before, but tonight just having come home from church and our beautiful Christmas musical, it seemed as if God sent that poem to me tonight. May you and your family be blessed this Christmas and may the Lord hold you tightly and comfort during this first year of the loss of your father-in-law.
Lynn
Been holding your husband and family in my heart today as I know it must be so difficult without his father.
Big hugs on this Christmas evening.
the poem is beautiful...I am going to give to my father-in-law to help comfort with the loss of my mother in law. Thank you!
