A window to Spring...

On Saturday I was able to go to a mini flea market...I was practically giddy with excitement, as I was starting to go through serious flea market withdrawal!  This gorgeous, chippy, peely, grey and cream colored old window was one of the lovely items that came home with me...

I still had a corner in my {new} dining room that needed some inspiration...and this window did the trick!

Along with the hyacinth bulbs...my little babies...that finally bloomed.  Can I just tell you that when you walk in the house, you can smell these incredible flowers even though they are 2 rooms away!!  It might be snowing up a storm outside, but in this little corner...it's Spring!

I am in love with this window...

It will be a fun spot to change out from month to month (you know how much I like to" redo")!

...vintage gardening papers from the 1800's...

I'll be back on Monday with the rest of the dining room.  Thank you for taking the time to come by my little blog and see what decorating projects and crazy rearranging I've been up...I am forever grateful for all of your support and kindness!!!

You girls are the BEST!!!  Enjoy the rest of your week...

Tracey

I love the window as well! I have one, but unfortunately not so chippy, that I drag from room to room. I hang wreaths, baskets of flowers, garland from it all year long. I LOVE the row of mercury candleholders and cannot wait to see the rest of the room! You have such a gorgeous style. :)

I love it all! I have an old window (much smaller) that came from my grandfather's very old farmhouse. Since moving, I haven't a place for it currently, but when it used to hang over my fireplace I hung seasonal wreaths from it. I love the charm of the old wood and wavy glass! So sweet!

Tracey,
I am forever in love with your lovely blog. And your beautiful decorating style. I love your window. It reminds me of old doors that I dragged out of a garbage pile a couple of years ago. I brought them to my moms house as I didn't have a way to transport them home, she was annoyed that I would bring them to her house and they were just so huge and big. Now they stand in her porch, and I can't get them away from her!

Sorry to double post Tracey. The Hotel Britanique is in a great location not far from the Louvre and right across the Seine and Notre Dame. It's quite a lively at area at night - I know you will have a wonderful time and I really was not much help at all.
One of the most important things to have is a good street map - if you like I can send you a great one that all the Parisians carry. I also have a little guidebook I've printed up that may help. Just let me know and I can slip it in the mail.
A bientôt

I would have grabbed that treasure as well! Once I had a very old house, and outside in a work room was this small wooden door. Must have been when people weren't normally tall! I decoupaged that door and had it in a corner for years. Somehow lost it along the way. Oh, seeing your window, how I wish I still had it!

Oh absolute heaven! Just a few weeks ago I found a place near me that sells old window panes and french doors for just $2. The only problem was, they were all outside, completely frozen into the ground! I cannot wait for the spring thaw to go back and grab some treasures...your post actually makes me want to go there now and dig them out with my bare hands!! I love love love your images. ~Lili
