Andrea's kitchen...

Hello my friends!  Today I wanted to share with all of you a kitchen redo that my friend Andrea recently featured on her blog, Faded Plains.  I fell in love with what Andrea had done and asked her if I could feature her beautiful kitchen on my blog as well...she kindly said yes!

Here is the before...

Nice right?  But here's how incredible it looks with some paint, creativity, and new appliances...

*Sigh*

I LOVE all of the touches that Andrea added to give character to her new kitchen...

I think the island that she created by adding beadboard to an old dresser is especially fabulous!!!

I am always lacking a little in inspiration for my kitchen and bathrooms, so I really take note when I see a makeover that gets my wheels turning, if you know what I mean :)  I hope you are able to gather a little inspiration from Andrea's kitchen makeover as well!

Andrea also has a beautiful SHOP filled with truly lovely vintage and vintage inspired items for your home!

Lastly, I want to ask if any of you are going to the Farm Chick's Show in June???  I'm going for the first time and am really looking forward to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  They are having a fab giveaway if you are planning to attend...the winner will get to be Serena's guest on vendor set up day, get in to the show early on Saturday, AND attend the super cool dinner on Saturday night!  Sounds good, doesn't it??!

To enter the giveaway, head on over to Serena's blog...and let me know if you are going :)

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Tracey

I can see why you like this kitchen so much, it is gorgeous! Love her cabinets before and after. I don't know which one I like more! Love all the detail work on them. Who would of thought that a dresser would make a great island? Genious!

Dee@FrenchBleuVintage said...

Holy Cow!!! That is an awesome re-do. The before wasn't too bad either. What type of paint did she use for the cabinets etc? The weather is finally turning warmer and I feel that painting itch coming on.

This kitchen is GORGEOUS! Redundant, I know, but it just needs to be said. It's so much more cohesive having light cabinets to blending in appliances to the wall color. Kind of like a cloudy dream. You're right, though, the island is absolutely brilliant! Now, MY wheels are turning.

Thank you for thinking of us and sharing! =]

Love, Katy Noelle

Andrea really elevated what was already very pretty into something that is now amazing! I am going to print this out for my someday file. Wish I could do the Farm Chicks sale, but I am not planning to go home to my folks in Washington State until later in the summer. Unless I can steal some FF miles from my hubby....hmmmm.....! {To be continued!} xx P&H

Uhmmm... I don't even know where to start!!! My idea of a kitchen is a few vending machines and automatic coffee dispenser. oh wait - that's my dream kitchen. BUT! I might have to revise the dream! I am in absolute LUST over the island - and I ADORE all of the different textures and finishes in Andrea's kitchen!!!

I want SO bad to go to the Farm Chick's show - but it's going to have to stay on my "i'm going there someday" list another year! I'm living vicariously through you - so show me lots of pictures please!!! And have FUN!!!

My daughters and I were planning on going to Farm Chicks, but just today my husband said that he wouldn't be able to get the time off duty, so I have to stay home. BooHoo...
One of us has to be home at all times with Landon, so my girls will be going without me. WHAAA!
I guess there's always next year.

Dear Tracey,

I've been resisting saying anything but it's going to burst out. "Of ALL the days for you to visit my blog!!!!" I liked my post (If you remember, it's the one about our neighbor, George, the beaver) but it wasn't anything homey or pretty or, oh, I don't know... As Snoopy says, "Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"=] Oh, well! THANK YOU so very super much for stopping by!

Love, Katy Noelle

P.S. I have the photo with those lovely candy cane carnations stuck behind the comment window and it's so lovely and refreshing - Ahhhhhh!!

Always, sincerely ....

P.S. again, Madelief, also, linked to my blog when I had that very same post up! Murphy's law or something, BUT, do you know Madelief? She is from Holland and has a very gracious and beautiful blog. It's more Scandinavian/English style with some super twenties and thirties fashion style thrown in. It's from her that I found "A Heart in Provence". There's a good chance that you know this blog but, if you don't, you absolutely MUST go see it!!!!!! If you already know of it, you'll forgive me for being so insistent because you will completely understand. It's Provence heaven!

Utterly charming country kitchen, yet with all the modern appliances. When I redid mine, I went completely contemporary. All stainless steel. But a marble counter top is the most marvelous and striking blue in the center of it all. And I have wicker type wallpaper and island collections on the wall. Still, it's quite a contrast with the rest of my home, which is filled with antiques.
