Hello my friends! Today I wanted to share with all of you a kitchen redo that my friend Andrea recently featured on her blog, Faded Plains. I fell in love with what Andrea had done and asked her if I could feature her beautiful kitchen on my blog as well...she kindly said yes!
Here is the before...
Nice right? But here's how incredible it looks with some paint, creativity, and new appliances...
*Sigh*
I LOVE all of the touches that Andrea added to give character to her new kitchen...
I think the island that she created by adding beadboard to an old dresser is especially fabulous!!!
I am always lacking a little in inspiration for my kitchen and bathrooms, so I really take note when I see a makeover that gets my wheels turning, if you know what I mean :) I hope you are able to gather a little inspiration from Andrea's kitchen makeover as well!
Andrea also has a beautiful SHOP filled with truly lovely vintage and vintage inspired items for your home!
Lastly, I want to ask if any of you are going to the Farm Chick's Show in June??? I'm going for the first time and am really looking forward to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are having a fab giveaway if you are planning to attend...the winner will get to be Serena's guest on vendor set up day, get in to the show early on Saturday, AND attend the super cool dinner on Saturday night! Sounds good, doesn't it??!
To enter the giveaway, head on over to Serena's blog...and let me know if you are going :)
Have a wonderful weekend!!!
Tracey

I can see why you like this kitchen so much, it is gorgeous! Love her cabinets before and after. I don't know which one I like more! Love all the detail work on them. Who would of thought that a dresser would make a great island? Genious!
Holy Cow!!! That is an awesome re-do. The before wasn't too bad either. What type of paint did she use for the cabinets etc? The weather is finally turning warmer and I feel that painting itch coming on.
This kitchen is GORGEOUS! Redundant, I know, but it just needs to be said. It's so much more cohesive having light cabinets to blending in appliances to the wall color. Kind of like a cloudy dream. You're right, though, the island is absolutely brilliant! Now, MY wheels are turning.
Thank you for thinking of us and sharing! =]
Love, Katy Noelle
Adding the beadboard to the back of the dresser was inspired...and now so am I!
Debbie
I also love every inch of Andrea's kitchen...as well as her entire home! She has quite the talent for transforming things and spaces into a dreamy country home ~ thanks for sharing it again with us.

Andrea really elevated what was already very pretty into something that is now amazing! I am going to print this out for my someday file. Wish I could do the Farm Chicks sale, but I am not planning to go home to my folks in Washington State until later in the summer. Unless I can steal some FF miles from my hubby....hmmmm.....! {To be continued!} xx P&H
I just love all the details over the stove, around the drawer knobs and such. So beautiful!
so beautiful! I am drooling over here, lol! thanks for sharing!
Amy
Wow -- I thought her kitchen looked great in the before photos -- it looks fabulous in the after shots! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Tracey,
What a wonderful job your friend Andrea has done on her kitchen. It looks great. I love the first photo of the dresser and, the island is brilliant. I could certainly cook up a sorm in there. XXXX
Uhmmm... I don't even know where to start!!! My idea of a kitchen is a few vending machines and automatic coffee dispenser. oh wait - that's my dream kitchen. BUT! I might have to revise the dream! I am in absolute LUST over the island - and I ADORE all of the different textures and finishes in Andrea's kitchen!!!
I want SO bad to go to the Farm Chick's show - but it's going to have to stay on my "i'm going there someday" list another year! I'm living vicariously through you - so show me lots of pictures please!!! And have FUN!!!
;-) robelyn

I should be so lucky to create such character.

Hi Tracey
Really nice, wish my kitchen was that big... not enough room to put an island. Maybe if we knock out the wall to the mud porch...hmmm
I will pop over to the Farm Chicks sight, this sounds interesting.
Have a great evening, can't believe how windy it is
Blessings
Rebecca
Wow I love her kitchen. I had not seen it. Maybe there is hope for mine.
Yes! I'm going to The Farm Chick Show for the 3rd year. You will love it. It will take your breath away.
Hope to see you there.
Well, I love her kitchen both ways. She did an amazing job. I'm envious of her big space. Thanks for sharing.
Andrea's kitchen is lovely. I really adore that island!
My daughters and I were planning on going to Farm Chicks, but just today my husband said that he wouldn't be able to get the time off duty, so I have to stay home. BooHoo...
One of us has to be home at all times with Landon, so my girls will be going without me. WHAAA!
I guess there's always next year.
hugs
This is a beautiful kitchen! I am loving all those photos and details...love it all! Thanks for sharing another inspiring and great blog!
Hugs,
Victoria

Tracey - I left a comment but somehow I ended up as anonymous, just want to make sure you read it - Thanks again for your help.
JoAnna
Dear Tracey,
I've been resisting saying anything but it's going to burst out. "Of ALL the days for you to visit my blog!!!!" I liked my post (If you remember, it's the one about our neighbor, George, the beaver) but it wasn't anything homey or pretty or, oh, I don't know... As Snoopy says, "Blaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"=] Oh, well! THANK YOU so very super much for stopping by!
Love, Katy Noelle
P.S. I have the photo with those lovely candy cane carnations stuck behind the comment window and it's so lovely and refreshing - Ahhhhhh!!
Always, sincerely ....
P.S. again, Madelief, also, linked to my blog when I had that very same post up! Murphy's law or something, BUT, do you know Madelief? She is from Holland and has a very gracious and beautiful blog. It's more Scandinavian/English style with some super twenties and thirties fashion style thrown in. It's from her that I found "A Heart in Provence". There's a good chance that you know this blog but, if you don't, you absolutely MUST go see it!!!!!! If you already know of it, you'll forgive me for being so insistent because you will completely understand. It's Provence heaven!
Tracey,
Wow, I got behind on your posts. Thank you for posted Andrea's kitchen. So beautiful. I love her blog. I sent your french flea market post to my niece in Paris. She's there studying this semester & shopping for her favorite Auntie. LOL We'll see what she comes home with. Lisa
Oh be still my beating heart...I have a huge case of kitchen envy right now!!!! LOVE IT!
Hope you are having a FAB weekend!
Blessings and Well Wishes!
Denise
simply P E R F E C T !
Utterly charming country kitchen, yet with all the modern appliances. When I redid mine, I went completely contemporary. All stainless steel. But a marble counter top is the most marvelous and striking blue in the center of it all. And I have wicker type wallpaper and island collections on the wall. Still, it's quite a contrast with the rest of my home, which is filled with antiques.
Hey Tracey , thanks for dropping by at my blog, you made me so glad, your sweet words to me thank you thank you, hope I can inspire you in the future.
What a kitchen! it was totally makeover, it was very nice and lovely to look at, many hugs to you / Ingela.
WOW! Beautiful!!
xo
Anette:)
I agree...Andrea's kitchen is totally magazine worthy!!!
Just found your blog! I was in Paris a few weeks before you. Looks like we went to all of the same places. I found a flea market that was not quite as expensive as the huge one.
Penny
