French gas stations...and a giveaway...

Hello my friends!  I'm afraid this will have to be my last post before I leave for my trip next Wednesday...I'm in the middle of a packing crunch!  I not only have to get myself packed up and ready to go, but I have 3 little ones that need to be all packed up to stay at grandma and grandpa's house...including meals for my son who is allergic to dairy and can not eat the regular meals everyone else will be having!  At any rate, on with my post...

Yesterday was a glorious, sun-filled day!!!  It finally felt like Spring had arrived.  After an afternoon spent outside, the kiddos and I came in to find little rainbows dancing around the kitchen.  The sun streaming in from the front of the house was beautifully shining through all of the tiny crystals on the chandelier above the kitchen table...the kids thought is was pretty cool!  I tried to capture it on film...

Another reason that I chose to show these pictures today, is because of the metal numbers above the patio doors...they've been the source of quite a few jokes lately between my husband and I.  You see, last year I bought those numbers at a local antique store {for a pretty penny}...because I love all things with numbers...and because they were marked as being from an old French gas station...yep, that's how crazy about French things I am!  When I tacked them up on the wall, my husband asked, "what's that all about?"  I proudly informed him they were not only vintage, but from an old French gas station as well. This quickly sent him into a fit of laughter...hmmm...

So now that we are actually going to France, my husband keeps asking me if I am going to try and steal anything from one of the gas stations while we're over there!  Very funny honey!  Forget metal numbers, I've got my eye on some nice French linens :) 

Since I will be away from my blog for a couple of weeks, I'll leave you all with a little giveaway...a sort of thank you for coming by all the time and sharing my life...

I promise to bring back some wonderful French decorating magazines...

maybe a lovely French decorating book as well...you know, the kind we just can't get over here...

and, who knows what other fun French items I might include...but one thing is for sure, I promise to put a lovely little package together for one of my wonderful readers!
