French gas stations...and a giveaway...

Hello my friends!  I'm afraid this will have to be my last post before I leave for my trip next Wednesday...I'm in the middle of a packing crunch!  I not only have to get myself packed up and ready to go, but I have 3 little ones that need to be all packed up to stay at grandma and grandpa's house...including meals for my son who is allergic to dairy and can not eat the regular meals everyone else will be having!  At any rate, on with my post...

Yesterday was a glorious, sun-filled day!!!  It finally felt like Spring had arrived.  After an afternoon spent outside, the kiddos and I came in to find little rainbows dancing around the kitchen.  The sun streaming in from the front of the house was beautifully shining through all of the tiny crystals on the chandelier above the kitchen table...the kids thought is was pretty cool!  I tried to capture it on film...

Another reason that I chose to show these pictures today, is because of the metal numbers above the patio doors...they've been the source of quite a few jokes lately between my husband and I.  You see, last year I bought those numbers at a local antique store {for a pretty penny}...because I love all things with numbers...and because they were marked as being from an old French gas station...yep, that's how crazy about French things I am!  When I tacked them up on the wall, my husband asked, "what's that all about?"  I proudly informed him they were not only vintage, but from an old French gas station as well. This quickly sent him into a fit of laughter...hmmm...

So now that we are actually going to France, my husband keeps asking me if I am going to try and steal anything from one of the gas stations while we're over there!  Very funny honey!  Forget metal numbers, I've got my eye on some nice French linens :)

Since I will be away from my blog for a couple of weeks, I'll leave you all with a little giveaway...a sort of thank you for coming by all the time and sharing my life...

You'll have to trust me that it will be good...

I promise to bring back some wonderful French decorating magazines...

maybe a lovely French decorating book as well...you know, the kind we just can't get over here...

and, who knows what other fun French items I might include...but one thing is for sure, I promise to put a lovely little package together for one of my wonderful readers!

Just leave me a comment on this post, while I'm away, and I'll choose a winner when I get back!!!  {Contest ends April 15th at midnight}

Au Revoir

Bonjour Tracey,
Love the chandelier. DOn't worry everything will fall into place. Godd luck getting all the kids packed and ready. We've been having some rain here but it is supposed to clear up this week, but definitely bring some warm layers and an umbrella for sure. Ok that's the weather report.
Bon voyage and wishing you and yours a Happy Easter weekend!
Mimi

Tracey,
Thank you for the super fast shipping on my beautiful book. It was such an extragance I have not opened it yet. Savoring the moment and the beautiful paper doves, the wrapping paper, the ribbon, the postcard, your lovely note. I have a really difficult week of lots of overtime coming up, plus juggling for my grandsons baseball games and always my hubby. So I am keeping the book wrapped until next Sunday and then I an hunkering down and savoring each page slowly! I am so excited about your trip. France! Oh how wonderful. I would love to win that give away. Thank you for the prayers for my hubby, Feb 17 we did get a miracle in that there is no tumor, no cancer cell, only a complex cyst they were able to drain. I know the beautiful prayers of so many bloggers and friends made this possible. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We so love your caring. Enjoy France!!
