Photo session...

My sweet daughter Halena made her First Communion last weekend.  It was a beautiful day and I decided it was high time I took some pictures of my children...seems I always have the camera in front of my face, yet I haven't taken any pictures of my kiddos in months...yikes!  While I was taking Halena's picture, she asked me, "Mom, you aren't going to put these on your blog are you?"  I pleaded with her to allow me to show just one or two {she's a tough negotiator!}...

I love this one below, even though it is a little weddingish with the flowers and veil...lilly of the valley is such a sentimental flower for me and one of my absolute favorites...

Since Halena didn't want me to share her pictures on the blog, I moved on to my little one who really doesn't have the vocabulary to object!  She's easy to get a good picture of...if you can get her to sit still for two seconds!!!  I bought her a little sun hat from Old Navy, so we used that in some of the photos...

I usually just leave her tousled, somewhat messy, hair as is because it's just classic Caighton...that's how she looks all of the time and it pretty much sums up her very active little self :)

Braden is my quiet, gentle boy who loves to hug on his mama...but a natural in front of the camera he is not.  As soon as I put the camera in front of my face, he gets a stern, almost painful, look on his face!  But I managed to get a few decent shots of this handsome little spitting image of his daddy {a mom's allowed to gush about her kids, right??!}...

...And this last one sums up nicely how we all felt by the time we were done taking pictures!  I quickly realized why I don't take as many pictures of the kiddos anymore...it's hard work!!!

{All pictures taken by me}

The winner of the magazine and ring is #2, Gail from Little Beach Designs!!!  Congrats Gail, and please send me your address!

**For more giveaway news, head on over to Verlee at Home for a chance to win a lovely antique vanity mirror and brush set!!!!!!!!!!!**

And to all of the moms out there...many blessings and a very Happy Mother's Day!!!

Hi Tracey~
What a beautiful family you have! And what beautiful pictures you took of them. I had to laugh as my older kids made me sign a contract about not putting their pictures on my blog without their written consent for each picture. They threatened to reveal my age if I posted unauthorized pics of them. Dang kids, blackmailing their mamma! Gotta love their creativity though!

I know we will all have busy weekends, so wishing you the most wonderful Mother's Day ever! Enjoy the day with those sweet babies of yours! And hour hubby must be Prince Charming!

Tracey ~ Gorgeous children and pictures.... you've caught them all in a moment of time when they are still just being children and not worried about the future. I love seeing kids in sweet clothing and lovely setting instead of many pics where they are being pushed to look grown-up. It happens all too fast and we don't need to rush it! Thanks for sharing them with us.

beautiful captures for sure

& i totally understand
one of my girls went through this stage where everytime i pulled it out she immediately got this weird almost constipated look on her face. since i'm not at all a patient person this proved for many a frustrated session with all four girls. bottom line, there's a couple of years where i dont' have many shots of her
she complained about it the other day....ummm....guess she forgot all about the 'please dont' take my photo stage'

Such sweet-faced children you have! The little one is perfect for the camera because she is least aware of the ramifications of it yet. Thus the least bothered by it. Love the first photo. It tells a story of sorts.

Beautiful photos Tracey. I love the little bouquet of lily-of-the-valley. A few years ago when my son was graduating from High School I planted some lily-of-the- valley so I could make his boutineer & dates corsage. Now they have spread across half the garden :-)
Happy Mother's Day ♥
