Well my friends, I've been at it again...redoing a room I just changed a few months ago! Shocking, I know!! :) And it's all because of these 1920's garage doors I bought from my sister's friend for a steal!! I love how they add a fun and unexpected element to my studio space...
Somehow they just started the ball rolling and before I knew it, I was changing all kinds of things in this room. I'm not 100% done in here yet, but it's close, so I thought I would share it with you...
{sorry for the bad exposure on these pictures, but the mornign sun comes streaming in the bay window in this room and it screws up all of my pictures}
I love my good friend Maria's ladder and how she decorates with it {you're uber fabulous Maria :)}, so when I found this vintage ladder at my new favorite store, Whimsy, I had to have it! I hung a few of my vintage grain sacks on it...
I just found this adorable little caddy over the weekend...love the color and patina on it...
I can easily set it aside and have an additional work surface to use when wrapping orders for my SHOP...my son/helper also likes to refer to this table as his desk :)
Since I don't sew, I made a bolster for the daybed by stuffing a few pillows in one of my grain sacks...
And speaking of the daybed, did you notice I painted it pale grey??! The black just wasn't working for me anymore...it's much prettier this way...
My mom made a skirt for around my work table out of the Jeanne d' Arc curtains I carry in the shop...I was in need of hiding all of the clutter under the table! A huge thank you mom!!!
I also decided not to use the wine rack as my ribbon rack anymore...it is now back in the dining room and I will probably hang all of my white cups from it again.
I bought these two gorgeous vintage garden chairs from Joy when I attended Anne Marie's Barn Sale a few weeks ago {BTW, Joy is having a giveaway if you want to head on over to her blog}...
I continue to be mostly absent from blogland due to a major project I am working on...more details on that in the next week or two...but it has me working night and day...so, please be patient with me girls, I promise I'll be back more regularly soon! I miss you all so much...
Enjoy a wonderful week!!!
Tracey

Have a pretty day,
Kristin
What amazing inspiration! I agree with the other's... every picture should be in a high end magazine!
Thank you for taking the time to share these!
Jean :)
Oh my! Just beautiful! What an incredible find with the garage doors! But the caddy...it stopped my heart. A wave of nostalgia, and emotion {made tears stream down my face}....This same metal pattern was used on this funky and very large heat return unit in the home I grew up in. The home that my great-grandfather built and was in the family for three generations until we sold it {a huge emotional hurdle for the entire family} when my father passed away several years ago. The home was built in the early 1900's which makes me wonder if your little caddy might be that old as well. I don't think any post in all of blogland has ever grabbed my sentimental heart more than this one. What a treasure you've shared and how it sent me into a place of reminiscing through decades of beautiful memories!
Hi Tracey,
I just had to come by and drool some more over this fabulous room!
Hugs ~ Jo :)
Where do I start? Your rooms are so scrumptiously white & lovely! Those garage doors are great.. what an incredible addition to your home. I love your white ribbon/tag organizer box! I think I need something like that to hold all my natural strings, etc.. so thank you for the inspiration! :)Love your ladder! And I too, am I fan of Maria's rustic, provence ladder. I've been in Whimsy before.. oh I need to get back to Morris for a shopping trip! Yes, I would love to get together for a latte sometime this summer.. I would like to purchase my first JL♥ mag from you! I've only flipped through one at Anne Marie's sale.. but have yet to have a personal copy. I can understand the being absent from blogging thing.. it is so hard to keep up with summer & having the kids home.. and keeping them busy. Please know that your readers completely understand & it is such a great little gift to get a post from you when you can. :) Have a great day!!
xx lara

Hey Tracey- lovin' those garage doors. My barn is full of old doors, and barn doors that slide- I already told hubby that one of them- with really cool, rusty old hinges- is coming inside. I am still painting- UGH- but just chose a really pale lavender to go in the laundry room. I made curtains out of drop clothes, and I'm going to paint them with faux grain sack-like stripes. BTW- I have two great old sacks that have writing on them- that will wash out. Do you know how to make the ink permanent? I guess back in the day they wanted it to wash out, so the fabric was more usable. Figures... have a good week!
Tracey...your skills are awesome! I am always sitting here at my computer in awe every time I visit you. Thank you for being such an inspiration!
xoxo,
Adrienne

Tracey, I am totally in LUV with the two garden chairs! Very French chic, oui ;-) Your studio looks fabulous ~ the garage doors are very interesting in the room. Hope you can find time to stop by my blog. We've been busy preparing for a space in a local antique shop. Fun!! I will have pics once we get settled in after the 1st of July. Cheers, Cheryl
Tracey what a truly wonderful space you've created here. I just want to jump through my computer screen & take up residence immediately. I love the way you've used the old garage doors, although I think I'd struggle to get a similiar look with our grey metal roller 'beauties'!
Millie ^_^
Wow...........i just loveeee your studiospace!!! Beautiful picters.

Please stop by and help with my front entrance decision.

Hey, you have so many beautiful things that I almost pass out. Mirror, ladders, doors, sofa, chairs, cushions yes everything is just so beautiful. it is a pleasure to visit you and your fine blog, I'm enjoying. Warm hugs / Ingela.
back the 6th time now - and when I say 6th, I meant on this post alone - you know what I am going through right now - looking for inspiration - and it's funny, but a shutter doesn't really compare to those garage doors - my husband didn't look surprised when I asked him if we had some in the barn to use in our bedroom or "somewhere" :)
dreamy whites, so divine! wishing you a great week... verbena cottage
I shamelessly follow and copy everything you do...you are da bomb...
I have the same vintage garage doors in my shoppe and I want to bring them to the farm and install them as sliding doors to the formal living room - someday when I can figure out how to hang them on rails. Those bistro chairs are sensational! I have never seen any like them...another lovely post. Hugs - Julie
Hey you....where the heck are you, hope everything is o.k.....now I do need some inspiration and you know I count on you for it so....talk to you soon! x0
Really love those garage doors, well worth redoing the room to fit them in. Oh and your mum did a fabulous job making the table skirt too.
alicia
I adore the way you re purposed the garage doors. I'm about to set up my studio and your pictures are an inspiration! The Peonies are gorgeous. We just got back to Southern California from Idaho where they bloom in abundance. Really nice. Your floors look like the same ones we chose for our cottage remodel. Glad to see they look so beautiful laid down. I popped over from Houzz and will now follow.
Love your blog! Beautiful images! So much fun to peruse! Just found your site via Somerset Life. Thanks!
Tracey - Just LUVING those garage doors inside! They do add so much warmth and texture to your space. And I'm still drooling over that beautiful grain sack pillow you put together. Awesome!
For some odd reason....I just can't get enough of your blog, girl! Believe me, you can come style my home anytime you want! :)
xoxo laurie@heavenswalk

Oh my gosh I just love your style. This is what I am inspiring to achieve. I just adore scouring the brocantes and flea markets here in the south of france to find an unloved piece that I know will look fabulous once I've given it a new lease of life. Love your blog and your images are superb.
