Hello! I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend!!! I'm slow to get going on the new week myself. It seems my body is already in summertime slow down mode!! :)
I thought for today's post I would share some random images from the weekend that just say "summer" to me...
If we're having guests over, or even if we're not, I love floating flowers in this old bird bath...
The mint in my garden is taking over, but I love it! Mojitos anyone??!!
This monarch butterfly decided he liked my old chippy garden chair...
I found a cute outfit on sale at J. Crew over the weekend for Caighton. I thought it would be fun to take a few pictures of her in it...
In particular, I wanted some outside shots. I quickly realized though that once we moved outside, she was not going to sit still for even a second {no big surprise}! So I let her play with the hose to keep her in one spot. The ice cold water didn't phase her at all!! She wound up having a blast...with both of us getting drenched by the end...
{love that big ole baby belly :)}
Summer is always fleeting...but for now, I'm going to enjoy every minute of it...
Happy start to the Summer my friends!!!!!!!!!
Tracey

Such a cutie your Caighton, love her name! The soft pink peonies in the bird bath are gorgeous!
Your butterfly is not a monarch btw, it's a Red Admiral.
Happy summer wishes to you sends

LOVE the photos! I've been a little down lately because I kid you not, it was only like 48 degrees last week and pouring every day. We have not had much sun at all. Even today i'm all excited for 62 degrees cause it's better than what we've had! My bird bath is my favorite part of my whole garden! Those photos of of Caighton are so cute! I'm actually headed to crew cuts this morning. Hopefully i find something cute too!
is that an invitation?
I have never had a mojito.....

Yeah, I remember those days when the girls were young. When turning on the hose turned out to be all kinds of crazy fun. The Slip 'N Slide. Remember that? Oh, the neighborhood kids came over and they played on that thing all day long. Love the idea of floating blossoms in the bird bath.

how beautiful, tracey. thank you for helping me see the sweet moments of summer as well.
My kids went into the pond at my in-laws 2 weekends ago- IN THE POND. Remember, we live in Maine, for goodness sakes. How do kids do it?? Adam, my 4 y.o., still has a baby belly. I think the poor child is doomed to be built that way... LOL.
Tracey! I miss those baby bellies! They are just the sweetest. All of your images are lovely and you do capture the wonder of the start of summer and all that she promises. Even older kids like mine are just ITCHING for school to end and summer to start, to s l o w things down!
Enjoy every moment. xx Suzanne

We call those "football tummies" in Texas. When my daughter was a little girl and took dancing, & all the class was in leotards the instructor told them to hold in their "football tummies." It stuck.
Your daughter is adorable, gorgeous, beautiful, precious & wonderful. Enjoy. xx's
