Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of heading to Tipton, Indiana to photograph the French Flea Market event that was going on there!
When I arrived, I was completely taken with this charming event! It was the most delightful combination of French goodness, vintage wares, fresh flowers, baked goods, delicious produce, and friendly people!!!
What more could a girl ask for??!
I was in love with this booth that was constructed out of old doors and windows {you know my love for both of those!!}...
It was a pleasant surprise to find that even though I was 3 hours from home, I knew two of the vendors...Rebecca from Vintage Living and Amber from Damask Designs.
Here is the patisserie, where I had a delicious piece of vanilla creme cake and a glass of lavender lemonade...
And here is just a sampling of the fabulous goods that were available for sale...
I had to restrain myself from buying everything! :) :)
Next week I will show you inside pictures of Horton's, the store that sponsor's the French Flea Market...and boy, are you in for a treat when you see this seriously adorable store...think small town hardware store meets the best home decor store you could come imagine!!! Wait til you see the talent of my friend Donna, she is amazing...until next week...

Simply Divine -- anyone who sells lavender inside a vintage flour sack has my heart.
I can almost hyper-ventilate just looking at those pictures! I have never have the opportunity to go to anything anywhere near like that Market! Maybe God is protecting me from spending every penny I have!!!! JUst beautiful!!
I am having a heart attack just looking at these wonderful vendor pics. I can't even imagine being there in person, I would have died.
Oh, how I long for this small town kind of event. So inspiring to get to work so I can get back home to experience all the small town goodness

Thanks for sharing all of this yummy pretty eye candy! (and, literally.... those cakes and tarts!!!!!!!!!) You must have had a blast *having* to focus right in on all of it and really, really look. Pure joy!
You know, we have a TON of old windows and doors in our barn that were just left here. We have plans for a "green house" and to glass in our back porch. It's quite yucky at the moment but has DEFINITE possiblities! One, it has and adorable outdoor fireplace. Two, it's on the north side of the house and private. Three, the view will be spectacular!!! I.cannot.wait!
Also, we found a gorgeous oak craftsman style door with side lights that are divided into vinelike design made from lead. Hard to explain BUT, I don't care if it doesn't fit with the style of the house! Somewhere, somehow.....

O don't know if this little tidbit of info gets to you or goes astray....
But the photo of the French Larkspur... which I assume (never assume!) referred to a shop with French things. Correct me if I'm wrong, please...I'd love to know.
What I did notice were stems of Scottish Broom, which grow prolifically in the fields and along the roads as you drive thru France. If you don't see little red wild poppies, or lavendar you'll see Scottish Broom. They are so fragrant...what isn't in France in the spring?
But the most wonderful memory I have of them were a group of French soldiers riding around in an open Jeep. The back of the Jeep was piled high with Scottish Broom. What they couldn't pile in the car the soldiers held in huge bundles...in their arms.
My French husband asked them for me what kind of flowers they were...and why they had so many of them. They said that they were indeed "Scottish Broom" and they were heading back to the barracks with them. The officers thought they brightened up the place and made it smell better.
I had to laugh. Flowers in a barracks. What a great idea!!!!
Thought you might enjoy that little tale. I can't remember exactly where it was, but if it wasn't Provence, it wasn't too much farther north
I wish I could show you some pix but you probably know what I'm talking about.
