My bedroom...

Hello!  Today I wanted to share pictures of my bedroom with you.  I don't think I have ever shown you this room, so here goes...

I didn't do any major redo on this room, just made a few changes recently and basically got rid of the "clutter" that seemed to be accumulating...does that happen to any of you?...where your bedroom winds up being the dumping ground for all things cast off or unwanted from around the house???  Well, that's what was happening in our room and I wasn't liking it!  So I reclaimed our bedroom...

The beautiful vintage French ticking pillows on my bed are from Dreamy Whites...

...and the lovely "dream" pillow is from  Melanie's wonderful shop Lettered Threads...

Our room is a mix of light and dark...with my love for whites as well as some beautiful darkwood family heirloom pieces that my father in law lovingly restored a number of years ago making it into the mix...

I love this vintage toolbox...I use it to store some of my jewelry as well as the contents of my husband's pockets  :)

These old shutters are from England and I love how they balance the whites and wood tones in the room!  I used some vintage seem binding to hang pages of an 1800's French play that I had {you know my love for vintage French papers!!}...

My husband sits here when he needs to work on his laptop at home {I cleared his "mess" away for the picture :) }

I'm hoping to find a farm table to fit this spot instead of the table that I have there now...keeping my eye out for one at the flea market...

***There is still time to enter my giveaway below***

Have a fabulous weekend and thank you for stopping by!!!

What a beautiful, peaceful and serene room. I like that you didn't paint everything white, but balanced it with natural wood. I love white, but like the contrast with the warm wood tones. It just seems to anchor a room.

Your bedroom is so beautiful and I have to say I am guilty of making my bedroom a dumping ground for my cast offs too, it really bugs me that I do this and every time I clean it I promise myself not to do it again but it always happens (; I just cleaned it out recently too!

Tracey, I think your bedroom is one of the prettiest I've ever seen on a blog. I love the whites and pale blue.. it reminds me of the colors of your French Larkspur look. This post is the first one I opened up today and it is just what I needed to begin my day.. pure tranquility! :) Yes, we have the clutter build up thing going on in our master bedroom.. my walk-in closet seems to be my dumping ground for all things I need to put up and away and my husband Frank has to have a CD player on his night table - he can't sleep without playing his relaxing CDs like pan flute or chant. Be sure to check out my last post on my blog.. I think you'll be interested! ;) Your bedding and pillows are very beautiful.. yes, where ever did you find that comforter? I hope you are staying cool and comfortable in this heat we are having here Tracey. Take care!
Love,
Lara

I'm so glad I stopped by this morning! This is just the inspiration I needed to get my bedroom going....I like natural woods with whites - it brings a certain 'mood' to the room - and your shutters are one of my favorite things I've seen in your decor thus far....I have a pair just like them that are only 2 feet high - and I also have a jewelry box that is really on old wooden tool box! funny!! it's so nice and de-cluttered in your room (and yes, I SO get you what you mean about the 'catchall' place!)
wonderful room!!!

I was just thinking last night how I need/want to do a few changes to my bedroom ... so it looks just like yours! :) Yours is the most beautiful bedroom I have seen yet -love the mix of finishes, the feminine and the rustic, the ruffles and the pretty lamps. I just adore your sense of style and how it looks so naturally beautiful. I love those little pillows ~ filled with lavender? I was going to make myself some but I'd rather buy pretty ones like yours ~
Thanks for sharing your room with us - it's just what I needed for some ideas.

What a gorgeous bedroom; it should be featured in a magazine! Really, Tracey, it's so dreamy & pretty:) I've been feeling the same way about my bedroom...that it's become a "dumping ground" ; told my husband this winter I wanted our room to get a makeover! And now I have a little extra inspiration {your pictures are fabulous}.
P.S. I do have an old window hanging over our bed, too...what is about those old chippy windows we love so much!?

Amy said...

I just love the pages hanging in the shutters, so simple and sweet.
You have done a wonderful job getting back to the heart of your room.
Our dumping room is the dining room.
I just hate that as soon as you come in the house whatever you have drops there.
I am on a mission to make this stop.
Have a great week
