Hello my friends! I've decided to start a recurring series on table settings. I love to entertain, and especially love the process of putting together a pretty tablescape, so I thought I would share some new ideas with you every few weeks...it's fun for me to do and I hope it sparks a few ideas for all of you!
For my first post in this new series, I chose a French Inspired theme for my table. I used some burlap yardage as the tablecloth and started with my usual favorites of ironstone dishes and vintage silverware as the base for my table.
The little franc plate acts as a bread plate...
I sprinkled some of my vintage French stamps on the table for fun, as well as, tore a piece of French paper and secured it around the napkins with a little twine, acting as the napkin ring...
...and tucked a sprig of dill in, as that is what I had fresh in the garden right now...
Oh, and the napkins are actually tea towels from Ikea. You can't beat $2.49 for a 4 pack!
Since I'll use just about any excuse to feature vintage papers in my decorating :), I replaced some of the mercury glass candlesticks on the mantle with a smattering of old French papers and candles...
I also brought out the old wine crate that I have and filled it with wine, sparkling water, and a few spice bags that would make great take home gifts for guests. I love being able to give a guest a little something to remember the day by.
{The French wine cork place card holders that I mentioned in THIS POST would go beautifully with the theme of this tablescape}
I hope this new series will help to inspire some ideas of your own for setting a unique and pretty table! I will keep track of the posts on my sidebar as we go along. As always, thank you so very much for stopping by and checking in on what I'm working on!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

Hi Tracey, Thank you for stopping in at my blog. I hope some of my London tips come in handy. I have been going to England to shop since l998...I guess I could write a book about all I’ve been though while doing it...I thought of the most awesome and one of my fave flea markets. You would need a driver to get you there (driving in England alone is insane!!!) its called Kempton Race Track. It’s in Richmond southwest of London proper..Its twice a month on a Tues. it amazing and one of my faves...enjoy yourself...its so much fun.
Oh my gosh this is lovely. Everything is just fabulous!

Such wonderful ideas. This setting is chic!
Just a thought about your trip to the U.K. - I am a true Londoner but living overseas for so long have lost touch with all my market friends. But...one of the best flea markets around in my opinion is Brighton Flea, held every Sunday morning at Brighton train station. It is a 40 minute train ride from Victoria station but so worth the effort. You will love it if you get the chance to go. Happy shopping!
Hola Tracey, so beautiful, great inspiration in your blog, a really wonderful one.
greetings from Chile,
maria cecilia

Utterly charming, Tracey!
I love table setting events...we used to have one once a year here (at our historical society) and it was a good money-maker too. But they discontinued it. Such fun to look around your house to see what you can use to create a perfect setting!
Your table looks wonderful, Tracey! I really like the burlap used as a cloth. Those Ikea towels are gorgeous! Making a mental note to pick some up next time I'm there.
