Hello! I thought I would try a little something different today...instead of a table setting, I thought I would share my dining room buffet done up to serve cocktails instead!
This is my favorite Fall drink to serve and it is super easy! You can even serve it warm if you'd like, but I prefer it chilled...
Fall Cocktail
1 cup apple cider
splash of pomegranate juice
splash of rum
Combine ingredients and ice in a cocktail shaker and mix. If desired, warm apple cider and pomegranate juice first, pour in a glass, and then stir in a shot of rum and serve.
See, super easy! And it's delicious!!
I used my hydrangeas leaves again, to coordinate with the red in the drinks, and I even used the red striped runner I bought from Maria...I have been jokingly asking her to teach me how to use red for awhile now, since she is so good at adding red to her white decor...
I felt a little like things looked too Christmasy once I downloaded my pictures, but oh well...now you have a Christmas cocktail too :))
You know my love for using herbs, well this is just some of my lemon thyme tied up with a short strip of burlap...I love lemon thyme because it always smells so pretty and it turns this gorgeous color in the Fall!
This wonderful serving tray is something that my sister found for me at Goodwill. I just adore the patina on it and the beautiful handles...I think it was $3!
My last little tip is using these wide mouth mason jars as candle holders...just slide a basic white pillar candle in them and they make a vintage inspired and inexpensive candle holder.
On another note, I wanted to share with all of you a really special upcoming Christmas event...
Do you remember *this post* when I headed out to Tipton, Indiana to photograph the French Flea Market event? And then I gushed on and on *here* about how awesome Horton's, the store that hosted the event, was???
Well, I will be headed back to Tipton to attend their Christmas Open House, and I can't wait!!! Donna is so incredibly talented at creating the coolest displays...I just know she will dazzle me with all of her Christmas ingenuity!!!
If you are anywhere at all in the Chicago/Indiana area, I would most definitely recommend this event, as Horton's is one of the most interesting and fun stores I have ever had the pleasure of stepping into...
Happy Halloween! Have a great weekend!!
Tracey
p.s. I had to laugh after I downloaded all of my pictures for this post, because you can vaguely see me and my dining room reflected in all of the glasses as I took my pictures {at least I know they were clean} :)) Sorry if it's a little distracting to the picture!

Tracey, this is just gorgeous as always! Love the tray from Goodwill. I could look at your photos all day. I wonder if you can make this a non-alcoholic drink, too?
Also, what color are your walls? Such a soft white...I'm getting ready to paint all white, and was looking for that perfect color. If you get an extra minute, could you let me know please? Thanks bunches :)

Hi Tracey, the cocktail looks dislish! I am going to try that one, it also seems light. I have always used red, you can see from my hutch, and atop my credenza a collection of red glass candles I light and it looks amazing. I don't worry really over the seasons too much. It's just my favorite color. I've mixed it into white for the past 20 years or so. Your setting is balanced and it's certainly not too much. The tray your sister found is amazing, I love bargains like that!
Love it! I didnt relies you were also going to be in FiFi's new book... im so excited to get it!
Oh my gracious - that tray is amazing!! Of course, you could make dirt look amazing =) Your photos are beautiful. Love the burlap and sprig that you tied on the glass stems!

Tracey, You really do come up with the most sophisticated, charming, and sweet table settings and vignettes I've ever seen... truly! Some fabulous magazine should snatch you up to be their photo shoot stylist, and photographer for that matter... beautiful photos!!!
I remeber the photo shoot you did of that Horton's shop and how much I LOVED it. Sure wish I lived nearby and could be there for the Christmas Open House... it's sure to be amazing!

Also love the idea of the lemon thyme and burlap, and your fabulous old arched window.

What a wonderful vignette, Tracey! The details, the recipe, the ideas.....all just wonderful! Thank you for inspiring me once again, girlie! :) And I'm trying the recipe for sure! Oh, and about incorporating red into your decor? Maria's got me doing it, too. I recently purchased a few vintage grain sacks with a beautiful faded rose stripe running through the middle. Every time I walk past my bedrooms where they lie against my white linen duvet covers, I always stop and just stare at them. Yeah...call me obsessed..... lol!
xoxo laurie
Oh, and YES, Tracey --- I would LUV it if you would put my name on one of those great totes when they come in!!! Thank you! :)

Hi Tracey
I am soooo happy.. your comment was sooooooooooo lovely ;O))
your pictures only great ;O))
Kisses Susi
I always hope to come on here & find a new post by you & much to my delight here is another lovely one! :) Very pretty & I love the little close up of your lemon thyme sprig. I don't think that this gives off the Christmas feel at all.. it looks very deep Autumn (if that makes sense) heehee. Your special textures give it such a warm fall feel & the drink color looks marvelous & sounds the same. I hear you on the red.. I'm loving red so much right now.. it packs a great punch to a photo & is a wonderful accent for white, cream, silver.. I can go on & on. Okay Tracey.. I've rambled enough. ;) I hope you & your family have a nice Halloween weekend!
Many Hugs,
Lara
I didn't think Christmas at all...it's just the right color for Fall. Opps didn't mean to rhyme.
Your posts are always so uplifting and give a great sense of you!
Happy Halloween dear friend!
xx
Carole

lovely post and i would not have noticed 'you' in the pics if you hadnt mentioned it ! it reminds me of a picture that was going around years ago...to show you what NOT to do when selling on ebay..it was a nice chrome toaster and sadly you could see the reflection of the photographer in the side of the toaster and he was a bit large...and naked...haha...too funny...see..at least you were dressed ! could have been worse..
Tracey, Take lots of pictures at Horton's this weekend...I wish I could go. Can't wait to see how awesome it all looks. Thanks.
I just wanted you to know that I used your idea with the galvanized bucket and branch and made something very similar. I love this. I also did a link back to your blog so everyone else could see the beauty that I see everytime I come your way. Thanks.
