Herb Window

I almost didn't squeeze a second post in this week, but luckily I found a few free moments today {it's been a rather crazy week!} to share this little corner with you...

I love this time of year...

The garden is bursting with fresh produce and the herbs are in abundance.  I love being able to just dash out my back door and pick a handful of fresh herbs...I use them for everything...and not just for cooking...I love to decorate with them as well...

I usually stash little vases of herbs around the house...their simplicity and frangrance is very appealing to me...but today I decided to hang a few herb bundles from this old window that I have...

I  love being able to brighten the house with things from the garden...

I hope you all enjoy a wonderful weekend!!!

Kim Klassen

Happy Monday everyone!  Today I am featuring artist Kim Klassen.  I first discovered Kim only a few months ago, thanks to my friend Traci.  Traci sent me a link to Kim's blog on one of the {many} days Kim was giving away a free download for one of her incredible textures.

I was instantly hooked on her blog!!!  Her photography is beautiful!  I love how Kim finds beauty in her everyday surroundings...in the simple things...and also how she incorporates a lot of vintage pieces into her pictures.  It is a treat for me to look at her work and spend time on her blog...so I wanted to share her talents with all of you in case you have never been to her blog before.

A little sampling of Kim's gorgeous photography...

Kim makes her own Photoshop textures and sells them on her blog.  I have bought some from her and absolutely love them!

Kim also has an upcoming stay-cation that she will be sharing on her blog.  I asked her to give me a little write up on it for my post today...here is how she described her stay-cation:

"Inspiration stay-cation has been an idea in my head for months. And just recently it revealed itself to me as i was pondering our summer plans. Or i should say lack of summer plans.  i thought to myself, seeing as we are going nowhere this summer, i will have to plan a stay-cation. And honestly that was that. The light bulb came on. I decided i would like to share a week of fun and creativity with my amazing blogging friends. Then i thought it would be nice to invite some of my friends to contribute. And my oh my, so many people have agreed to pop over and share. The week will consist of a variety of inspiration, from writing, to art, to photography, creative parenting, story telling, photoshop fun, challenges.... all kinds of stay-cation goodness."

So if you would like to get inspired, find Photoshop tutorials, learn how to use textures, and so much more, head on over to Kim Klassen Cafe

**All photos featured in this post were taken by Kim Klassen**

Enjoy the start to your week!!!

Horton's of Tipton

Today I'd like to share with you some of the photos I took of Horton's, when I was in Tipton, Indiana a few weeks ago.  I went there to photograph the French Flea Market event they were sponsoring , but was so pleasantly surprised to find this amazing store as well!!!  Horton's is a small town hardware store where you can buy paint and tools and all of the usual hardware stuff, but the delight of it is, that they also have a candy counter in the middle of the store where they make the most delicious homemade fudge every day as well...

...they also have a beautiful greenhouse on the back of the store...

...and then part of the store is sectioned off using old doors and clever creativity to allow for the most incredible home decor store...

I was blown away by all of the unique and gorgeous displays Donna had put together throughout the store...

This bed was my favorite {although it was hard to pick a favorite}...

She used an old mantle as the headboard and tree branches as the posts around the bed...so cool...and then hung all sorts of fun things from the branches, making the look totally breathtaking!  The pictures don't do it justice, but I had to show them to you anyway...

I just thought the whole store was brilliant!  You can go there with your husband and both of you can shop for what you want!! :) :)

If you live anywhere near Tipton, Indiana, I highly suggest you go and check out this wonderful store for yourself!  Their supply of vintage doors and windows alone make it worth the trip!

Have a great weekend!!!

lavender

Hello Monday!  How about some pretty lavender pictures for your Monday morning?  Have I ever told you that I am a wee bit obsessed with lavender??!  I just love how it smells, so when I recently found fresh lavender bundles for sale at Trader Joe's, I went a little crazy and bought 13 bundles of it!!!  I know, that's a lot of lavender :)

I've tucked some in just about every corner in the house and have a few projects planned with it as well.  Here's a look at some of what I've done so far...

This enamel pitcher was a flea market find from earlier in the month...Judy brought it back from her trip to England...and now it resides in my home!

My downstairs hallway...zinc French seedling cups and some of my burlap sacks mingle nicely with the lavender...

I'll be back soon with those inside pictures of Horton's that I promised to show you.

Happy New Week!!!

French Flea Market

Last weekend I had the absolute pleasure of heading to Tipton, Indiana to photograph the French Flea Market event that was going on there!

When I arrived, I was completely taken with this charming event!  It was the most delightful combination of French goodness, vintage wares, fresh flowers, baked goods, delicious produce, and friendly people!!!

What more could a girl ask for??!

I was in love with this booth that was constructed out of old doors and windows {you know my love for both of those!!}...

It was a pleasant surprise to find that even though I was 3 hours from home, I knew two of the vendors...Rebecca from Vintage Living and Amber from Damask Designs.

Here is the patisserie, where I had a delicious piece of vanilla creme cake and a glass of lavender lemonade...

And here is just a sampling of the fabulous goods that were available for sale...

I had to restrain myself from buying everything! :) :)

Next week I will show you inside pictures of Horton's, the store that sponsor's the French Flea Market...and boy, are you in for a treat when you see this seriously adorable store...think small town hardware store meets the best home decor store you could come imagine!!! Wait til you see the talent of my friend Donna, she is amazing...until next week...

Have a great weekend!!!
