Hello! Happy almost weekend! As promised, I have some pictures of a few of the flea market finds I brought home with me last weekend...
I have been reading a lot of photography books lately and challenging myself to improve, which basically means trying to understand my camera's abilities and settings better...and practicing more :)
I have been playing with light and how it affects photography lately. While I am and always will be a big fan of light and bright {and, yes, slightly overexposed} photos, it's interesting to see how shadows and colors change at different exposures.
This great vintage fly catcher is perfect paired with some verbena bonariensis that grows like crazy all over my garden...
I picked up a pair of these old grey chairs...remember I told you I have a small obsession with vintage chairs! The price was right, and, well, sturdy wooden chairs like these are just so versatile for inside and out that I had to buy them...
A very large cube of French soap to add to my collection...
...and a wonderful vintage French tip plate!
{the fly catcher, soap, and tip plate were a few of the things I picked up from Lisa's booth, the one I featured in my previous post}
I always pick up old bottles in this beautiful aqua color if I find them at a reasonable price {they can sometimes be rather pricey}...I just love this one...
And lastly for today...some more vintage botanical prints...
I have more to show you, but alas, this was all I had time to photograph.
So what fabulous flea market finds have you scored lately???
Enjoy your weekend ~
Tracey
p.s. the all new book from Jeanne d' Arc Living, "Amazing Retreats," is now available for pre-order in the SHOP!

Hi Tracey,
Sorry that I have neglected you. For some reason, I seem to have missed your posts.
Anyway, I LOVE that particular verbena. My sister has it in her garden and bought some plants for our cousins 60th birthday ( amongst other things including Champagne !!!! )
I love the different light in your photographs. They all look so different. ...... and, some beautiful flea market finds as well.
PS: I just wanted you to know that I still haven't done my stencil yet !! I am going to definitely do the one that you sent me and follow your instuctions. I couldn't find the email that you sent me, as I was having trouble retrieving my older emails but, I have found it now so, I must have a go. You were so kind to send me that stencil so, I feel really bad !! XXXX
I've always wondered what those flowers are called, so pretty!!beautiful photos x
Love the vintage finds. The chair is really cute too! I love practicing with my camera, but I am not as good as you. I have tons of pics though!
Hi Tracey, glass is wonderful to photograph because of all the reflection of light through it and from it! The pic of the large bottle in the shade is really lovely and shows the colour of the flowers off to great effect.
Beautiful photos, I don't know how you can improve your already wonderful camera skills.
hugs

So lovely Tracey.
I love how your photos are looking outside. What a great vintage fly catcher, anything vintage and glass I just adore. I have a thing for vintage chairs as well, but unfortunately not much space to store them in.
Hope you have a beautiful weekend.
Sincerely,
Melinda
Lovely things! I adore that little aqua bottle, so cute.
What's not to love about vintage glass anything and old chairs...Love them....Your photos are truly amazing Tracey....I wish I knew more about photography - I try to practice and play with settings, but seems I make things worse rather than better. It truly is such an art onto itself - and you're one gifted artist....Happy Friday! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin

your photography is enviable-truly. you made my "rough and tumble" wares look so elegant and feminine with your keen eye--whatever books you are studying from definitely do the trick! although, you seem to have an ability that cannot simply be culled from books--you're BORN with it!!
