A Vintage Door and Suitcases...

Hi!  I thought today I would share more flea market finds with you...

I bought this old door a few months ago from one of my favorite flea market vendors and immediately sealed it and put it in Halena's room...and I found the great vintage suitcases at Whimsy when I went to the 3 French Hens Market a few weekends ago...it worked out so well because the door is small and needed something to bump it up a bit.

I added one of the Jeanne d' Arc pillows that we keep in Halena's room to the vignette because I love how the French ledger print looks with the suitcases, and then I hung the vintage crinoline that used to be in Caighton's room from the door...I love how it looks against the chippy door!

Happy Flea Marketing!!!

Simple Summer Decorating

Hello!  I hope all of the dads out there had a wonderful Father's Day!  It was a busy weekend for us, going to my mother-in-law's surprise 70th birthday party on Saturday and then hosting Father's Day on Sunday, so I am going to keep it short and sweet on this rainy Monday morning...

I decided to cut some herb bundles from my garden and arrange them from my bottle drying rack in the dining room for a little Summer decorating...

I love using herbs around the house...they just say Summer to me :)

I chose what I had in abundance right now...

thyme, lemon thyme, mint, yarrow, lavender and catmint

and I am still in love with my anthro monogram mugs, so I tucked a few of those inside the rack as well...

I hope Summer is in full swing for everyone now!!!

A Flea Market Find...Vintage Shutters

Hi!  I thought it would be fun to start showing you some of the flea market and garage sale finds that I have purchased recently and what I have done with them.  The Summer months are the best time for acquiring new items for the home at a bargain...I love flea market season! :))

A few months ago I picked up these wonderful vintage shutters at the flea market for $12 a piece!  I had been looking for some for quite awhile.  They were filthy and someone had painted them green...so I gave them a little makeover...

I kept the old hardware that was on them and painted them my favorite grey, Notre Dame by Valspar.  I then took my {husband's} little mouse sander and went to work trying to make the new paint look authentically old...

I'm very happy with how they turned out!  They help to add a little more interest to our family room.

Oh, and BTW, my mom made a great little linen skirt for our "entertainment center" {which is really an old dresser} to help hide all of the stereo and tv equipment that we need to put in the slots...thanks mom!

I added some vintage Paris prints that I found at the flea market to adorn one of the shutters...

{French pitcher and grain sack pillows from Dreamy Whites Online}

I hope to continue to show you more posts like this throughout the Summer...and I would love to hear about any great flea market/garage sale finds you have come across lately??!!

Happiest Weekend!

3 French Hens Market Part One

Hello!  Happy Monday!!  Today I wanted to share some of the photos I took at the 3 French Hens Market on Saturday...I have so many that I thought I would show you some now, and some a little later in the month to break it up.

The location of the market is such a pretty one and the day was perfect...not too hot and not too cold!

There were vendors with beautiful flowers, fresh produce, baked goods, clothing and jewelry...

...but it's always the vintage wares that get my attention!

here is a sampling...

More to come in Part Two!

The next date for the 3 French Hens Market is July 9th

Hoping you have a wonderful week ~
