These photos were taken down by the creek at the local forest preserve...I am really having fun taking outside pictures so you will continue to see more from me :))

Caighton was my little helper on some of the pictures!

Caighton Turns 4

Hi!  Happy Friday!  I have been loving taking outdoor photos lately...there are some spectacular prairie fields here in the Midwest at this time of year... I thought they would be a perfect place to practice my outdoor photography.  I tried using different settings and different exposures on my camera to achieve different looks, but mostly I just wanted to use the stunning backdrop of these gorgeous flowers to take some pictures of my little one...

...who is turning 4 this weekend!!!

Here are a few of the pictures from her little photo shoot ~

Happy weekend my friends!!!

p.s. the late summer issue of Jeanne d' Arc Living magazine is now up on my website and available for pre-order!

Flea Market Finds...Vintage Chairs

Good morning!  Well, I spent the weekend taking photos outside...for a change of pace and to get some practice in too :)  It was very hot, but everything is looking so beautiful that it was a lot of fun too!  I am continuing my series {if you can call it that} on flea market finds, and today I'd like to share with you my wee obsession with vintage chairs...

I often pick up chairs at flea markets and garage sales so that I can have extras on hand if needed.  I don't currently use any of these chairs in my home everyday, but they serve as great extra chairs when needed for dinner parties or impromptu outdoor gatherings...

The lovely blue bistro chair above is I one I picked up from the 3 French Hens Market last month.

...I've had this chair for a few years now...I gave it a quick coat of white paint and recovered the seat with a vintage pillow case...

...and this pretty little chair was a garage sale find, for $3!  It is actually a plastic folding chair that I painted white and added a slip cover to the seat.  It's always great to have chairs that stow away nicely...

And lastly, I do love this ice cream bistro chair.  It was originally black and so I painted it white last year and left it out on my patio all year to give it a little bit of patina...

The vintage botanical prints were a flea market find as well!

I have more outdoor pictures to share soon!  Hope you all have a great start to your week!!!

3 French Hens Market Part Two

Happy Friday my friends!  Since there is another 3 French Hens Market happening tomorrow, I thought I would share just a few more pictures I took at last month's market...

There is such a wide range of vintage goods at this market {and new items as well}, that there really is something for everyone!  3 French Hens Market is featured in the current issue of Romantic Homes magazine as one of the top 10 flea markets...pretty darn cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great weekend!!!
