Hello my decorating friends!
A few months ago my good friend Jen casually asked me if I'd ever considered switching my family room and dining room...
Hmmm...
No I told her, but of course the seed was planted and the damage done! You just can't make a statement like that to a self professed changeaholic...once she mentioned the switcheroo, I couldn't get it out of my head :)
So, here we are in my new dining room {which used to be the family room}...
{BTW, the first switcheroo happened a couple of years ago when I switched my living room and dining room and decided to forgo the living room so that I could have a studio}
I went a little snap happy with my camera, so I best get started showing you around...
I love how my grandparent's table and chairs look in here with the painted floor! It is such a cherished family heirloom and I feel blessed to have it.
{I dug this mirror out of storage...it was a flea market find from over a year ago}
I was thrilled at how nicely the pallet table my husband made me last year looked in here!
we added some vintage hooks to the side so that I could hang a few things...
Except for the fresh flowers, everything in this room is stuff that I already had, just shuffled around a bit...it's amazing how fresh changing a few rooms around can make your home feel!
Who knows, maybe in 6 months I will change the rooms back, but for now I am loving this new switch! :))
I want to freshen up the mantel in this room as well, so I will have to save the pictures from that corner of the room for another post when I have that finished. And, I am still working on some finishing touches in the new family room...
Thank you for visiting!
:) Tracey

I commend your bravery! This is something I would think about doing, but then get to scared. It looks amazing!
It's gorgeous!! I love it!!
Hi Tracey,
Everytime I come here I feel so good. I love looking at your soft and pretty decor. Change is always good and if it lasts six months then I'd say it was worth it.
hugs

Looks great.I have too much heavy furniture to make that move.Lucky for you it can be done.
Beautiful photos Tracey, would love to sit in there for a meal, anytime! :)

Beautiful as always! I could spend hours around that table. :)
I especially love the pallet table with the bucket hanging from it. So simple but so elegant.
Can't wait to see what you have done with the mantle. I have one in the dining room and love to change it all the time.

Your new dining room is fabulous. You must feel like you have a new home. I'll always love those arched windows you have propped on the buffet. The pallet tale looks great, love the way you have it styled. I could sit here with my coffee all morning gazing at your pics.
Can you tell I love your style?? :-))

This is a beautiful room, Tracey! I love your table and chairs ~ how wonderful that it is something that has a history. Love the pallet table! I may need to do something {or get hubby to do it} along these lines for my sunroom. I'd like a console table that looks a bit like a potting bench and what I'm seeing is just too much money. You've got great details throughout in here!
hello tracey,
looks really beautiful, i also changed my bedroom and living room a while ago, even if its a lot of work, it makes so much fun :)
i adore all your chairs, theyre so beautiful.
have a nice day you decorating queen :)

That looks fabulous! You are smart to do it (and you must have an agreeable husband)! In my last house there was a fireplace in the family room and I always wanted to make it my dining room....everyone thought I was crazy...now we moved so oh well....good for you!!

It looks amazing T.! You did a wonderful job. I can't wait to see the next room.
Looks great. We have an odd layout in the house but I have often thought of switching the living room and dining room up which would mean less furniture in old dining area but the living room would still have a comfy over sized chair.
Incredibly beautiful! Thank you for sharing such a lovely inspiration
One word.....GORGEOUS!
Amazing and so inviting! Love it!
Isn't it so much fun to change things around?!! I love your new changes, it looks so fresh and pretty Tracey!~
I really like the table setting with the grain sack runner and the pretty glasses and bottle filled with pink lemonade.
And oh, that bottle rack, I have been looking for one forever, but they are so pricey.
Beautifully done.
Have a lovely weekend.
Sincerely,
Melinda
Hi Tracey~~
It looks so beautiful as always, but I have always loved your style. So funny, in my latest post I focus on my newly bought and placed white chippy shutter. Mmmm... I think our are very similar:) Love them. The bottle rack is so great. I would love to find one and I would love to have the space for one too:)
Have a great day.

Hey Tracy, I just wanted to let you know I used one of your pics in a blog post today. I love your style, hope it was ok to use one! I linked it back to you and listed your name and blog. Just thought you might be interested in knowing! God Bless!
Woo hoo for the switcheroo! It all looks wonderful Tracey, and now I'm dying to see the new living room.
I love your pops of color in here, especially the blossoms, and that mirror you re-discovered - it's gorgeous!
So I was at the drugstore today and a new magazine jumped into my hands - a premier issue of 'Vintage Style'. I'm flipping through and thought "hmmm, this home looks familiar. Oh - it's Tracey's!"
What a wonderful article and there's plenty of photos to stimulate the senses.
Congratulations to you! I hope you've seen it?
- Susan
I was reading a magazine on my lunch break today, and guess what I saw...

Hi Tracey,
I can NEVER tire at looking at images of your home! In fact, I was at the local bookstore again and picked up an issue of Vintage Style Mag and saw more images of your most beautiful home!!! They were the same photos as the one in Fifi's book, but I enjoyed viewing them nonetheless!!! :) I always LOVE what you do to your gorgeous home, and this room is no exception! Thanks for the constant inspiration!!!
Hugs,
Jessie
This is so dreamy...and I love this space Tracey. What is it in that bottle? Pink soda? Do you have a recipe for it?
I love your space...if ever i make it to France, yours will be the first place I'll visit. Without fail. Uninvited.
Hi Tracey,
I have to say you inspired me to change my living room that was never really used. We hang in the family room. I did not have a dining room and I love to entertain so I made the living room into a dining room and just love it. I had been thinking about it for awhile and then after your change up I decided to go ahead and do it!!!!! I love my new and really large dining area. It gets used now and is not a wasted space. Thanks for the inspiration.
Late commenter, but just came across your blog via My French Country Home blog today. "Dreamy" like a previous commenter described is how I feel looking at the photos of your dining room... j'adore!
