Around the City in Savannah

I wanted to show you a quick snapshot of beautiful Savannah from my trip last weekend!

Part of the joy for me in going on vacation, is being able to take pictures...I love just wandering around a city, taking in the sights, and snapping photos!!  I'm a total camera nerd and I don't mind a bit :)

Natasha kept saying that we "hit the weather jackpot," as we had the most spectacular weather for the 4 days we were in Savannah!!  What a glorious city!

We stayed right in the Historic District and just walked around all day and then sat poolside with a cocktail before heading out to dinner...I miss it already :))

The best part of this trip was getting to spend kid-free, relaxed time with my best friend.  Natasha and I have known each other for 20 years now and there is just such an ease to traveling with someone you have known for a long time.  Really good friends are such a blessing in life and I thank God every single day for my amazing friend Natasha!

Have a great weekend ~

p.s.  the new Jeanne d' Arc Living cookbook, The Best Recipes, is now in stock and is beautiful!  It would make a lovely Mother's Day gift :)

Savannah and Charleston are two American cities I'd love to visit one
day - I've only been to the South once and that was to Virginia. It would be great to be able to explore Georgia and the Carolinas - the gracious Southern lifestyle really attracts me though I suspect that these days it exists more in books and magazines than in reality:)

Gorgeous! The Architecture is divine. I love old buildings. They just don't produce things like that now.
Thanks for taking us on your trip. Have a great weekend.

It looks like an amazing place to visit - and such beautiful photographs. I'll be spending time with my girlfriends next weekend too, and I'm SO excited. I adore being with my kids, but some grown up girl time is definitely needed from time to time. x

Being from Minnesota, that "stuff" hanging from the trees has always fascinated me. My husband and I visited Savannah during a 3 week car trip several years ago. I insisted he pull some of it down so I could bring it home. Well, later in the day, when we opened the trunk, there were bugs all over from that stuff! Needless to say, I didn't bring it home. Beautiful city and beautiful photos.

Looking at these photographs is making me happy and sad. I visited Savannah for the first time in February and fell in love. Many of the shots you've taken are exactly what my own eye sought out with my camera. Looking at these makes me feel like I'm right there once again! Glad you had such a good weekend!
