Beautiful Cassis, France

Today I bring you a few images from beautiful Cassis, France.  While in Provence, we decided to take a day trip down to this lovely coastal town.  One of my favorite things to do while on vacation, is have a leisurely lunch by the water...and if you throw in some delicious white wine, well, I'm pretty darn happy :)  Cassis is home to a number of vineyards and they are known for their wonderful white wine.

Lots of great restaurants around the port...

This next photo shows you some of the charm you experience while wandering the streets of Cassis...

no front yard, no problem, you can still have a garden...

Only an hour and a half drive from where we stayed in Apt, to Cassis.  Well worth it!

Be back soon ~

Tracey

Tracey - that was one of our favorite days while in Provence last fall! (We were in St. Remy while you were in Normandy I believe?) My daughter and I took the boat trip out to the Calanques also before we had a delish lunch on the waterfront. How I envy your frequent trips! :-) LOVE it there!

I looked at the pictures with amazement about how familiar they seem. Then I realized that couple of years ago we traveled in the same area and visited the same town! It was one of the cutest places I have seen. The beach was great for the kids, too, just between the little harbor and the huge cliffs in the "city center"! Definitely a place to return one day!

Ohhh, my Dear, thank You again for this little vacation trip. We went to greece, Rethymnon on Creete, it looked almost the same. So I had that feeling again, sitting there, hearing the boats´noises, smelling the salty water... feeling the sun.
Thank you so much for taking me there again, I have read so much about it (my childhood in provence by Marcel Pagnol, seen so much (there are two beautiful movies abaout this book, very famous in France), and it is part of my dreams.
Ah, how wonderful for you, that you had that live :))
Hugs, Méa

We just returned from beautiful France. We spent 10 days in Provence and it was everything we dreamed of and more. I love Lourmarin also. We spent this past Sat. in Cassis and took an hour long little cruise. It's stunning to look back on this beautiful gem on the sea. I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of two boxes of wonderful items I couldn't live without. We've been to Paris several times, but Provence now holds a special place in my heart. Thank you for sharing your photos..fills me with wonderful memories. Jody

I have just been telling my husband that we need to go to France. I haven't been in 15 years. A friend who lives in France is coming for a visit this weekend. Maybe she will convince my husband we need to visit.

Lovely photos! Cassis is a special place for sure! Don't miss the opportunity to drive from Cassis to La Ciotat (or the other direction) over the Crete! Breathtaking.
